So what is a family to do?
First, Pray.
Second, panic.
Third, pray that we can stop panicking.
I have worked at this job for 7 years now. I came from the restaurant business and just sort of happened into a job in an office setting. Seemed like a good fit as we were ready to settle down and think about starting a family. I have held several different job titles over the years, and have mostly enjoyed the work, but really, it's the people I enjoy working with. The owner of the company is an awesome guy who really cares about his employees. I respect him greatly, which made it really easy to work for him. He has always been flexible with my schedule as my personal and family needs have changed. I'm honestly going to miss working for him.
This didn't come as a complete surprise. Our company has been making lots of changes over the past few years, and I had cut back my hours in an effort to help with their financial struggles. They are letting me work until January 15th to give me time to plan for our future. Not how I wanted to start the new year, but I think in the long run, it will be for the best. I live more than 30 miles from the office which means I have to fight rush hour traffic for over 2 hours each way while beating up my vehicle in the process. Plus, it's no secret that my ultimate career goal is to be a stay at home mom.

I know you are judging me right now, perhaps even questioning my sanity. Yes I have two kids, and yes they can drive me up a wall. The thing is, I would rather be with them and going nuts, than missing out on their lives and amazing little personalities. They totally amaze me each day with the sweet things they say and do. They are also likely to shout, argue, throw temper tantrums, be bossy, and yell "no" a million times a day. That just comes with the mom territory I think. |
So now is a perfect time to go to Africa right?
Ok, I admit the timing is not ideal. I need to be raising funds for my bills, job hunting, getting our lives back in order. Both of our cars are in sad condition, our house needs repairs, our kids need new things, we need to be saving money... panic... panic.. panic...
So yes, it's a perfect time to go to Africa.
Want to help us get there?
It's not your job to fund our mission trip, but it's my job to fundraise... so if you feel like supporting us in our efforts, it would really make a huge difference! We have currently raised $5,300 of our $12,000 goal. We will gladly accept any dollar amount donation you would like to give. Every dollar helps and I promise that we are grateful for any size donation!
